Shab-e-barat

Fifteenth of Shaban(Shab-e-barat ) is the birthday of the twelfth Imam of the Shia. Hazrat Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him)who is currently in occultation. As indicated by certain hadiths, the evening of the fifteenth of Shaban, which is called Shab-e-Barat . This is one of the best nights after the night of Qadr . And most of the Shia people spend this night in a state of vigilance and worship, just like the night of Qadr. Ahl al-Sunnah who are convinced of Sufism are also convinced of the virtue of this night. In all the Shia areas of the world, celebrations and festivals are held on this date to celebrate the birth of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him). Shias gather in large numbers to celebrate in Masjid Jamkaran in Iran and Karbala in Iraq. This day is an official holiday in Iran .Aand is commemorated in the Iranian calendar as Roz Jahani Mustafazfan (International Day of the Oppressed). Ibn Taymiyyah and most of the Salafi (Wahhabi) scholars consider all kinds of ceremonies and celebrations on this day to be innovation.

Importance.

Fifteen Shaban(shab e barat) is one of the most important Shia festivals . According to the historical sources and popular theory among the Shias, Imam Mahdi (AS) was born on 15 Shaban year 255 or 256 AH .

Imam Mahdi is the twelfth Imam of the Shias and, according to Shia beliefs, he is the guarantor of the Mahdi who will appear somewhat later. And fill the world with justice just as it was filled with abuse and abuse. Shias observe the fifteenth of Sha’ban as required.

Similarly, the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban( shab e barat ) is maybe of the most noble night. And in the hadiths, various traditions have been recommended on tonight.

Virtue

In a hadith, Imam Sadiq (a.s.) declared the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban as the best night after the night of Qadr. Recommended. It has been mentioned in a hadith that: Gabriel woke the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from his sleep on the night of the 15th of Sha’ban . And advised him to pray, recite the Qur’an and ask for forgiveness. Another tradition has said that: One of his wives reported that he performed special acts of worship such as prolonged and numerous prostrations on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban(Shab-e-barat).
Apart from this, the importance and virtues of the fifteenth night of Sha’ban(shab e barat ) have been described in several hadiths. Some of them are as follows:

Opening the doors of God’s pleasure, forgiveness, sustenance and goodness;
The distribution of human sustenance and the determination of death;
Forgiveness for all human beings except the polytheist, the gambler, the merciless, the drunkard and the man who insists on sin.

Celebration

On this day, the Shiites hold a great celebration in honor of Imam Mahdi (a.s.). In this regard the scene of lamps at different places in the roads and alleys is very beautiful. Ceremonies are held in mosques and gardens or other religious places. In which people congratulate the Imam through hymns and poems. Giving free food to the poor and giving good deeds etc. Similarly, the day ends with these Sunnah Hasna.. In Iran, this festival is praised in an extraordinary way. And with the title of Deha Mahdiwat, different occasions, workshops and different projects are coordinated for a few days. In regards to Imam Mahdi Along these lines, endeavors are made to make more mindfulness among individuals in regards to Imam Mahdi (harmony arrive) . In such way, individuals from various urban areas of Iran accumulate in Jamkaran Mosque on this day. And help nearer to God through night vigils and different ceremonies, and through different projects, the character of Imam Mahdi . His appearance, remain and the highlights of his administration. Deeds of Shab-e-barat

Night actions

1).Bathing which leads to reduction of sins.
2).Stay awake at night and engage in prayer, supplication and seeking forgiveness.
3).Reading Dua Kameel.
4).Pilgrimage to Imam Hussain (AS) leads to forgiveness of sins. According to some hadiths, all the prophets visit him on this night. If you are far away from the holy shrine of Imam Hussain (AS). Then after going to a height and looking left and right. You should look towards the sky and visit Imam Hussain (AS) with these words:

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیْكَ یا اَبا عَبْدِاللّهِ، اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُاللّهِ وَ بَرَكاتُهُ

5). Recitation of this dua which is equivalent to visiting Imam Zamanah:

اَللّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ لَیْلَتِنا (هذِهِ) وَ مَوْلُودِها ۔وَ حُجَّتِكَ وَ مَوْعُودِهَا الَّتى قَرَنْتَ اِلى فَضْلِها فَضْلاً ۔ فَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُكَ صِدْقاً وَ عَدْلاً لا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِماتِكَ۔ وَلا مُعَقِّبَ لاِیاتِكَ نُورُكَ الْمُتَاَلِّقُ وَ ضِیاَّؤُكَ الْمُشْرِقُ وَ الْعَلَمُ النُّورُ فى طَخْیاَّءِ الدَّیْجُورِ الْغائِبُ الْمَسْتُورُ۔ جَلَّ مَوْلِدُهُ وَ كَرُمَ مَحْتِدُهُ وَالْمَلاَّئِكَةُ شُهَّدُهُ وَاللّهُ ناصِرُهُ وَ مُؤَیِّدُهُ اِذا آنَ میعادُهُ وَالْمَلاَّئِكَةُ اَمْد ادُهُ سَیْفُ اللّهِ الَّذى لا یَنْبوُ.وَ نُورُهُ الَّذى لا یَخْبوُ ۔ وَ ذوُالْحِلْمِ الَّذى لا یَصْبوُا مَدارُ الَّدهْرِ۔ وَ نَوامیسُ الْعَصْرِ و َوُلاةُ الاْمْرِ وَالْمُنَزَّلُ عَلَیْهِمْ ۔ ما یَتَنَزَّلُ فى لَیْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ۔وَ اَصْحابُ الْحَشْرِ وَالنَّشْرِ تَراجِمَةُ وَحْیِهِ وَ وُلاةُ اَمْرِهِ وَ نَهْیِهِ ۔ اَللّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلى خاتِمِهْم وَ قآئِمِهِمُ الْمَسْتُورِ عَنْ عَوالِمِهِمْ ۔ اَللّهُمَّ وَ اَدْرِكَ بِنا اءَیّامَهُ وَظُهُورَهُ وَقِیامَهُ ۔ وَاجْعَلْنا مِنْ اَنْصارِهِ وَاقْرِنْ ثارَنا بِثارِهِ وَاكْتُبْنا فى اَعْوانِهِ ۔ وَ خُلَصاَّئِهِ وَ اَحْیِنا فى دَوْلَتِهِ ناعِمینَ ۔ وَ بِصُحْبَتِهِ غانِمینَ وَ بِحَقِّهِ قآئِمینَ وَ مِنَ السُّوَّءِ سالِمینَ یا اَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمینَ ۔ وَالْحَمْدُلِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمینَ ۔ وَ صَلَواتُهُ عَلى سَیِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّینَ وَ الْمُرْسَلینَ۔ وَ عَلى اَهْلِ بَیْتِهِ الصّادِقینَ وَ عِتْرَتِهَ النّاطِقینَ وَالْعَنْ جَمیعَ الظّالِمینَ ۔ واحْكُمْ بَیْنَنا وَ بَیْنَهُمْ یا اَحْكَمَ الْحاكِمینَ النّاطِقینَ وَالْعَنْ جَمیعَ الظّالِمینَ واحْكُمْ بَیْنَنا وَ بَیْنَهُمْ یا اَحْكَمَ الْحاكِمینَ

It is recommended to read Zawal Salawat every day.

6).Recitation of this prayer which the Holy Prophet used to recite on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban(Shab-e-barat):
اَللّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنا مِنْ خَشْیَتِكَ ما یَحُولُ بَیْنَنا وَ بَیْنَ مَعْصِیَتِكَ۔ و مِنْ طاعَتِكَ ما تُبَلِّغُنا بِهِ رِضْوانَكَ۔ وَ مِنَ الْیَقینِ ما یَهُونُ عَلَیْنا بِهِ مُصیباتُ الدُّنْیا ۔ اَللّهُمَّ اَمْتِعْنا بِاَسْماعِنا وَ اَبْصارِنا وَ قُوَّتِنا ما اَحْیَیْتَنا وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوارِثَ مِنّا۔ وَاجْعَلْ ثارَنا عَلى مَنْ ظَلَمَنا وَانْصُرنا عَلى مَنْ عادانا۔ وَلا تَجْعَلْ مُصیبَتَنا فى دینِنا۔وَلا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْیا اَكْبَرَ هَمِّنا۔ وَلا مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنا وَلا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَیْنا مَنْ لا یَرْحَمُنا بِرَحْمَتِكَ یا اَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمینَ.

Like reciting the azkar a hundred times.

سُبْحانَ اللّهِ” ، “الْحَمْدُلِلّهِ” ، “اللّهُ اَكْبَرُ” اور “لا اِلهَ اِلا اللّهُ”
7).Reciting Namaz Jafar Tayyar.
8).Praying four rakats in which Surah Hamad and Surah Tawheed 100 times in each rakat and reciting this dua after the prayer:

اَللّهُمَّ اِنّى اِلَیْكَ فَقیرٌ ۔ وَمِنْ عَذاِبكَ خائِفٌ مُسْتَجیرٌ ۔ اَللّهُمَّ لا تُبَدِّلْ اِسْمى وَلا تُغَیِّرْ جِسْمى وَلاتَجْهَدْ بَلاَّئى وَلا تُشْمِتْ بى اَعْداَّئى۔ اَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عِق ابِكَ وَ اَعُوذُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنْ عَذابِكَ۔ وَ اَعُوذُ بِرِضاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَ اَعُوذُبِكَ مِنْكَ جَلَّ ثَناَّؤُكَ اَنْتَ كَما اَثْنَیْتَ عَلى نَفْسِكَ وَ فَوْقَ ما یَقُولُ الْقآئِلُونَ

Actions of the day

1).Ziyarat of Imam al-Zamana (AS) which is recommended to be recited at all times and in every house.
2).Praying to hasten the appearance of Imam al-Zamana (A.S.).
